September 8, 2018, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York will mark another epic chapter in Boxing. Shawn ‘Showtime’ Porter and Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia have been jawing back and forth at each other for months now. Now the date has been set for these 2 great welterweights to settle the score in the ring. The prize will be the vacant WBC welterweight title. Garcia is going to have to find a way in this fight to stop the aggression of Porter.

Porter does a great job of making it difficult for his opponents to get off their shots by smothering their offense. Garcia needs to watch tape of the Kell Brook vs. Shawn Porter fight to increase his chances of winning this fight. In Porter’s loss to Brook, Brook was able to use his jab to keep the distance on Porter, thus, every time Porter tried to get inside and smother, Brook’s jab was right there to stop Porter’s aggression. The jab by Brook made Porter have to reset his aggression and start over.
If Garcia can follow suit and do what Brook did in his victory over Porter, then he can definitely win this fight. Shawn Porter is going to tough for anybody at 147 because he is so awkward with his aggression, and he makes his opponents fight every second of every round. If Porter is successful in imposing his will on Garcia in the fight with sheer spin-cycle aggression, then his hand will be raised at the end of this fight. Can Garcia handle Porter’s pressure?
