Welterweight contender Yordenis Ugas put on another eye-opening performance on the Danny Garcia/Shawn Porter undercard this past Saturday night. He boxed circles around Cesar Barrionuevo en route to a 12 round unanimous decision victory. With the win, Ugas earned a shot at Shawn ‘Showtime’ Porter’s WBC welterweight title.

Ugas is the mandatory, but after Shawn Porter won the vacant WBC welterweight title this past Saturday night, Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence, Jr. jumped in the ring and pulled a “Shawn Porter” by challenging Porter to a WBC/IBF welterweight unification fight for 2019. With that said, the upstart Ugas may be on the outside looking in for now. Ugas is highly skilled at welterweight, and his elusive skills will give any of the top welterweights trouble.
