On January 10, 2020, Claressa ‘T-Rex’ Shields put on another sensation performance as she steamrolled through Ivana Habazin. The Ocean Casino Resort boxing crowd witnessed Shields used her jab and devastating body punches to overwhelm Habazin.
The body shots from Shields led to a knockdown of Habazin in round 6. Habazin got up from the body shot knockdown, but Shields controlled the distance and fight the entire night. This fight would go the 10-round distance and Claressa ‘T-Rex’ Shields was awarded the 10th round unanimous decision victory.
With the win Shields captured the vacant WBC and WBO Women’s junior middleweight titles, thus, becoming the fastest boxer in boxing history, Male or Female, to capture world titles in 3 different weight classes.
Conclusion
Claressa Shields is getting scary good by the minute. She has a great trainer in John David Jackson who continues to guide Shields in the right direction by keeping the fundamentals down and staying patient in the ring. Skies the limit for the 24-year-old phenom. How close is Shields getting to claiming the #1 Women’s Pound 4 Pound status?
Well, that title still belongs to the undefeated undisputed Women’s welterweight champ Cecilia ‘First Lady’ Braekhus. Shields, however, is gaining on her.
