On Valentine’s Day Ryan ‘Kingry’ Garcia gave the boxing world an impressive knockout treat. He took out Francisco Fonseca in less than 90 seconds. Garcia landed a vicious left-hook on Fonseca in the 1st round of that fight that sent him to the canvas.
The referee immediately stopped the fight, and Ryan Garcia was awarded the 1st round KO victory. With the win, Garcia retained his WBC Silver lightweight title. Garcia is the true “New Golden Boy” of boxing. After the fight, Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney jumped into the ring to face off with Garcia.
Now Garcia will more than likely fight another ‘Golden Boy’ Jorge Linares later on this year. Linares was on the undercard of Garcia vs. Fonseca as he faced off against Carlos Morales. In that fight, Linares produced an impressive knockout of his own as he knocked out Morales in the 4th round of that fight.
With the win, Linares has put himself in a position to fight Ryan Garcia which would be the battle of “The Golden Boys.” Devin Haney’s entrance in the ring last night to confront Garcia was to remind him that he is ready to fight him at any time.
Haney and Garcia pumped the Honda Center boxing crowd up as both fighters were shouting “let’s get in on.” If Garcia can get past Linares in his next fight, Haney vs. Garcia is a real fight that can happen in late 2020.
Haney and Garcia fought each other in the amateurs with both fighters having a different perspective of what took place during that time. If Haney and Garcia get in on in late 2020, who would win that great fight?
It’s a fight the entire boxing world will be looking forward to seeing.

I agree. Garcia has to step up, but he has the looks and the marketability to be the New Golden Boy if he continues to build. Haney, Stevenson, and Linares is waiting on him though. LOL! Thanks for sharing Hassan!
