This past Wednesday, the WBC ordered Errol ‘The Truth’ Spence, Jr. to defend his WBC welterweight title against Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman. Now, most of the boxing world knows Spence was adamant about not wanting to give Thurman a shot at the title.

It’s not because Spence is afraid of Thurman, but back when Thurman was the welterweight champion, he did not give Spence a shot at the title. With that said, now that Spence is the champion, he vowed not to give Thurman a shot at the welterweight titles.
Well, the WBC may cause Spence to not only defend his WBC welterweight title against Thurman, but Spence may also decide to defend his WBA and IBF welterweight titles against Thurman to make the fight a unified title fight.
If Spence vs. Thurman happens, Spence will be the favorite. Thurman will be a true challenge for Spence, but in the end, Spence should get past Thurman if the fight happens and continue his pursuit of a mega-fight with Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford.
