In round 5, Dubois knocked Joshua down again. Joshua up from the knockdown and cracked Dubois with a right hook. Dubois was stunned by the right hook and started backing up. Joshua saw this as a chance to punish Dubois more.

His plan would go up in smoke as he tried to land an uppercut on Dubois and got caught with a devastating counter-right hook that sent him down to the canvas for good. The referee stopped the fight, and Daniel Dubois got the 5th-round knockout victory. Dubois retained his IBF heavyweight title.

Conclusion

Daniel Dubois has put the boxing world on notice with his impressive knockout victory over Anthony Joshua. Joshua was favored heading into the fight, but most boxing fans knew that Dubois had a great chance of scoring a knockout over Joshua. With the win, Dubois has put himself in position for a big-fight opportunity in the heavyweight division.

Anthony Joshua did not move his head well enough in this fight. He also did not utilize his jab. The combination of his non-movement and jab was the demise of his getting knocked out. Should Anthony Joshua retire? Leave a comment at the bottom of the post regarding whether AJ should retire.
