Check out Potshot Boxing Fact #10 featuring George Foreman and Bernard Hopkins!

In the 10th round of that fight, Moorer was closing in on a huge coming out party to the boxing world, when suddenly, he stands in front of “Big” George, gets caught with a huge right-hand shot, and never got up from the canvas.

George Foreman was awarded the 10th round knockout victory over Michael Moorer, thus becoming the oldest fighter in boxing history to hold boxing world titles.  Foreman was 45 years of age when he beat Moorer.

Did you know that 17 years later, Bernard “The Alien” Hopkins surpassed the great George Foreman as the oldest fighter in boxing history to hold boxing world titles?

Hopkins accomplished this back in May of 2011 when he defeated Jean Pascal in Canada for the WBC, IBO, and RING light-heavyweight titles.  Hopkins was 46 years old.
