On May 7, 2016, Amir Khan will be heading into what a lot of boxing expects feel may be his funeral when he steps up to middleweight to challenge Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for Alvarez’s WBC middleweight strap. Canelo Alvarez is a strong young lion that will be looking to devour Khan en route to taking another step towards becoming one of the best fighters in the sport.

This fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. So, because no one of significance in the welterweight division will give Amir Khan a play, he is now forced to put himself into serious danger. It has been almost a year since Amir Khan last stepped into the ring and even in his last fight, I thought that Chris Algieri came super close to upsetting Khan in that fight.
Now Khan wants to test a hungry, relentless monster in Alvarez who will have no problem chin-checking Khan on May 7, 2016. Not sure if this fight is going to be a catch-weight fight or not, but I do not think it is going to matter. Boxing World let’s pray for Amir ‘King’ Khan.
