The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York is going to be treated to a great boxing card on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The main event will showcase the up-and-coming boxing sensation Errol Spence, Jr. as he will be facing the biggest test of his professional boxing career when he faces off against New York’s own Chris Algieri.
I expect for this fight to boil down to which Chris Algieri decides to show up to the Barclays Center on April 16. Will the boxer Algieri show up or the aggressive Algieri show up? In Algieri’s fight with Amir Khan, he surprised the boxing world by taking on the aggressor role the entire way in that fight.

Now, that opened up a lot of counter opportunities for Khan, but Algieri’s aggression did give Khan all he could handle. Spence is a great boxer-puncher who loves to stalk his opponents with controlled aggression, but Algieri is a great boxer too which will test the young Spence’s patience.
Not sure which Algieri is going to show up on April 16. If Algieri the boxer shows up, I predict a long and hard night for Algieri as Spence will take advantage of Algieri’s boxing with hard power shots to the body and head. Algieri is not quicker than Spence, so Algieri’s best bet is to stand up and stalk the stalker in my humble opinion.
If Algieri the aggressor shows up, however, he may give Spence a little trouble as the boxing world has never really seen Spence deal with true effective aggression in his boxing career so far. This should be a great night of boxing on April 16, 2016, but in the end, I feel that Errol Spence, Jr. will prove to the boxing world that he is ready to be the next big star in the sport of Boxing as this fight with Algieri should cement his official coming out party.
