Danny Garcia aces his tune-up fight!

Last night, Danny Garcia “Swiftly” took care of Samuel Vargas in his tune-up fight.  Heading into the fight, Garcia needed to get in some good work before facing Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman in a welterweight unification title fight in March of 2017.

The steady ingredient that Garcia packed up and brought to the Liacouras Center to deliver to Vargas all night long was a nasty right hand.  Garcia’s vicious right-hand shots led to an early knockdown of Vargas in the 2nd round.  The blasting right hand shot sent Vargas crashing to the canvas.

Vargas barely beat the 10 count and survived the 2nd round.  Garcia continued to wow his hometown boxing crowd with more vicious right hands and left uppercuts that simply overwhelmed Vargas.  Garcia closed this tune-up fight in the 7th round like he had been doing the entire night.

Garcia caught Vargas with a left hook followed by an explosive right hand shot that caused Vargas’s corner to step in and save Vargas from himself.  Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia was awarded the 7th round TKO victory.

Conclusion

Now, Keith Thurman was at ringside calling the fight with the Spike TV Boxing Analysts.  After the fight, Danny Garcia thought it was a good idea to go over to where Thurman was and started talking trash to him.

The trash talking between Thurman and Garcia continued in the ring after Garcia was announced as the winner of the fight.  Garcia got his hometown crowd of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania hype when he asked them who wants to see him kick Thurman’s butt.

Within the trash talking, however, Thurman reminded Garcia that he was not a “Cherry Pick.”  Now that’s awesome!  Cannot wait for Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia and Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman to fight in 2017!
