The Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada will be electrifying as power punching Adonis Stevenson will make his first title defense of the WBC and Ring light heavyweight crowns against another power puncher in Tavoris Cloud.
Adonis “Superman” Stevenson, (21-1-0, 18 KO’s) has a knockout ratio of close to 90 percent; while Tavoris “Thunder” Cloud, (24-1-0, 19 KO’s) also has a knockout ratio of close to 90 percent.
Stevenson scored an impressive 1st round TKO victory over “Bad” Chad Dawson in his last fight; while Tavoris Cloud just got schooled by the great Bernard Hopkins in his last fight which resulted as the first professional boxing loss of Cloud’s career.
One fighter is coming off of a huge high; while the other fighter is coming off of a not so huge low as Hopkins can do what he did to Cloud to any fighter.
Let’s see. In Stevenson’s only loss of his professional boxing career, he was stopped; while again, Cloud’s only loss was a result of getting schooled by the great Bernard Hopkins.

This is a matchup of dual knockout power so do not get up to go and get popcorn or go to the bathroom because you can possibly miss a vicious knockout if you are not careful. Because Stevenson got the knockout so quickly in his last fight, I am not really sure how he is going to handle himself against Cloud if the fight goes into the late rounds.
I expect Cloud and Stevenson to collide right from the start of the bell in this fight as both of these fighters love to brawl, although, I will give the edge to Cloud as the better boxer going into this fight. I give Stevenson the edge in applying pressure going into this fight but, he will not have to apply too much as Cloud should be right there in front of him the whole night.
So, the question again; which power punching fighter wins? Well, before Hopkins put school in session for Cloud, he was on the rise as one of the top up and coming fighters in boxing but made the mistake of thinking that Father Times had caught up to the ageless wonder that is Bernard Hopkins.
Adonis Stevenson is a knockout artist that has only went 12 rounds one time in his professional boxing career, so this is where Cloud can use his experience to box Stevenson more than brawl with Stevenson and take him into deep waters where Stevenson has never really gone before.
If someone is going to get knocked out early in this fight, I believe it will be Cloud; however, if someone gets stopped due to stamina and an accumulation of punishment, I believe it will be Stevenson and in this fight I will choose an accumulation of punishment.
Prediction: Cloud by 9th round TKO
