The Andre Berto vs. Devon Alexander fight is an important fight for both fighters. Devon Alexander is coming off a gamed effort against ‘Vicious’ Victor Ortiz in his last fight. In the end, however, the fight with Ortiz would end in a draw which left Alexander wondering if he will ever get another crack at a championship. Andre Berto didn’t know what hit him in his last fight. Shawn ‘Showtime’ Porter used his ultra-aggressive boxing style to confuse, wilt, and befuddle Berto.
Porter stopped Berto in round 9 of their meeting. It was like Berto went into a spin-cycle that is Shawn Porter. After the Shawn Porter fight, the boxing world was left wondering if this would be last time Berto will be fighting on a championship level. Fast-forward to Saturday, August 4, 2018, Andre Berto and Devon Alexander will meet in a 12 round welterweight fight. The loser of this fight will most likely never fight on a championship level or at best be a gatekeeper fighter.
With that said, the boxing world should be treated to a competitive fight. Both fighters have everything to lose. Careers will be on the line in this fight. The Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York will be the venue to host Andre Berto vs. Devon Alexander. Who will win this fight? Check out Potshot Boxing’s (PSB) latest boxing poll and vote.
