Billy Joe Saunders and Demetrius Andrade have been starving to fight the top middleweights in the sport of Boxing, but none were eager to give them a shot. A deal has been reached for the 2 fighters to turn to each other to produce fireworks instead. It’s ‘Superb’ Billy Joe Saunders vs. Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade for Saunders’ WBO middleweight title. Fight date has been set for October 20, 2018. As far as the location, right now its Los Angeles, California, but that can change.
This is going to be a pretty intriguing matchup as you have a savvy boxer in Saunders and a boxer-puncher in Andrade. Andrade is 25 and 0, and Saunders is 26-0. Finally, the two fighters will get a real challenge in the middleweight division. Saunders was supposed to have gotten a challenge in his last fight against David Lemieux, but Saunders made that fight look like a sparring session. In Andrade’s last fight, he fought a young rising middleweight in Alantez ‘SlyAza’ Fox, and he made that fight look like a sparring session as well.
Saunders and Andrade fought two gamed middleweights in their last fights, but at the moment, those middleweights just do not stack up to the top middleweights in the division. On October 20, 2018, somebody’s “0” will go. This is not a must-win fight for either fighter. Somebody is going to taste defeat for the first time in their professional boxing career, but the sky will still be the limit for these 2 middleweights. The winner of this fight will definitely gain another big fight on the horizon.
After this fight on October 20, both fighters will finally get some of the top middleweights to fight them. Saunders vs. Andrade should be a good one. Cannot wait for October 20, 2018!
