There was definitely some great boxing action that took place in Germany and Russia on Saturday, September 27,2014! Unfortunately for a lot of American boxing fans, we did not get to witness the oversees action. The boxing fans in Germany watched their fellow countrymen “King” Arthur Abraham put on a great performance en route to holding on to his WBO super middleweight title.
In Russia, it was a cruiserweight affair as the Russian boxing fans witnessed pure domination for their countrymen Grigory Drozd and Denis Lebedev as they both produced victories for their country over the Polish boxers they were fighting. I dubbed that September 27 cruiserweight event in Russia, “Russia vs. Poland.”

“King” Arthur Abraham defeated Paul Smith by 12th round unanimous decision to retain his WBO super middleweight title.
Grigory Pretty Boy” Drozd defeated Krzystof “Diablo” Wlodarczyk by 12th round unanimous decision to capture the WBC cruiserweight title.
Denis “The White Swan” Lebedev defeated Paweł “Harnas” Kołodziej by 2nd round KO to retain his WBA cruiserweight title.
