‘The First Lady’ Cecilia Braekhus showed the boxing world why she is still considered the best Women’s fighter in boxing when she picked apart Victoria ‘La Leona’ Bustos this past Saturday night. It was clear from round 1 that Braekhus was on another level than Bustos as she used her great jab and counterpunches to befuddle Bustos the entire fight.

Bustos was game as she used her aggression to try and throw Braekhus off her boxing game, but Braekhus was laser-focused. Bustos was trying to load up for one shot, but Braekhus saw every punch she threw. It was an easy night for Braekhus as she cruised to a 10th round unanimous decision victory in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
With the win, Braekhus remained undisputed as she retained her WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, and RING Women’s welterweight titles. After the fight, Braekhus’ Promoter Eddie Hearn stated that a fight with WBO junior welterweight champion ‘Simply the Best’ Katie Taylor will take place in the summer of 2020.
Taylor is at the top of her game right now in Women’s boxing. Is Katie Taylor the fighter that can stop the Braekhus train? The fight would have to be at a catchweight if these two great fighters decide to fight each other in the summer of 2020.
