Canelo Alvarez is the New Middleweight King looking to fight in higher pastures. Alvarez will be fighting WBA (Regular) super-middleweight champion Rocky Fielding on December 15, 2018. Now, there are questions as to whether Canelo can beat some of the other best middleweights at 160. Canelo, however, has chosen to challenge himself at a bigger weight at 168.

Canelo has a little experience at 168 by fighting Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. In that fight, however, Canelo used his superior boxing skills to outclass Chavez, Jr. So, what do we know about Rocky Fielding? Well, he has beaten some decent competition at 168 and his only professional loss came to one of the best at 168 in Callum Smith.
Fielding is tall, rangy with a good jab, but he can be hit. Like Canelo, Fielding is a boxer-puncher, so this fight may take a round or two to get warmed up.
Once the fight warms up, this could turn out to be one of the best fights of the year. Fielding does a great job of using his range, so Canelo will have to get inside. If Canelo can get past Fielding who is a good super-middleweight, he will continue to lay those legacy blocks out to become one of the best to ever do it. You do not want to miss Canelo challenge himself at 168 at Madison Square Garden on December 15, 2018.
