So, with an upcoming hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) on April 18, 2018, for 2 failed drug tests, Canelo Alvarez withdraws from the May 5, 2018 middleweight title rematch with Gennady Golovkin. The biggest fight of 2018 is off for now, but there is a possibility that the fight will happen in the future.

Canelo continues to express to the boxing world that he is a clean fighter, but he will more than likely be suspended by the NSAC on April 18, 2018. So, with the Canelo/GGG 2 fight on ice, GGG still plans to fight on May 5, 2018.
