What a great fight the boxing world is going to be in for on November 2, 2019! Sergey ‘The Krusher’ Kovalev will be putting his WBO light-heavyweight title on the line against “The Face of Boxing” Canelo Alvarez. Canelo will be moving up 2 weight classes to attempt to knock off the dangerous ‘Krusher.’

For Canelo to win this fight against such a big, strong champion like Kovalev, he is going to have to get on the inside and pound Kovalev’s body at every turn in this fight. Expect Canelo to do just that. He also needs to box Kovalev in spots while making Kovalev zap some of that energy and keep the fight off the ropes by circling Kovalev in the middle of the ring. (Turn him.)
Kovalev is a very dangerous fight for Canelo and you have to respect Canelo for taking this fight against a true light-heavyweight. Kovalev has a great jab and expect for him to use it to set up vicious power punches on Canelo. Kovalev’s weakness has been his body, but Kovalev is a destroyer. If Kovalev made adjustments to his diet during this fight camp then he is going to be more than ready to defend his WBO light-heavyweight title on November 2.
It doesn’t hurt that Kovalev has a great trainer and former world champion Buddy McGirt in his corner. So who wins? So, usually, when a great smaller fighter goes against a great big fighter, the bigger fighter wins. Canelo is “The Face of Boxing,” but you just get the feeling that this time he might be biting off more than he can chew.
