The Eimantas Stanionis vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr. got postponed. Stanionis vs. Ortiz, Jr. was going to take place on April 29, 2023, but Ortiz, Jr. has another bout of rhabdomyolysis to battle. As a result, Ortiz Jr. had to withdraw from the WBA (Regular) welterweight title fight.
The boxing world and beyond truly hope that Ortiz, Jr. gets well soon. Nothing but thoughts and prayers go out to the Ortiz family. Hopefully, this will be the last battle of rhabdomyolysis that Ortiz, Jr. will have to deal with. Stanionis vs. Ortiz Jr. got postponed before.
The first time Stanionis vs. Ortiz, Jr. got postponed, it was Stanionis that had an illness and had to go to the hospital, which caused the fight to get moved. Hopefully, Ortiz Jr. gets well soon, soS tanionis vs. Ortiz Jr. can take place in late 2023.
