With the Canelo vs. GGG 2 rematch on ice, Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin will settle for Vanes ‘Nightmare’ Martirosyan on May 5, 2018. The StubHub Center is expected to watch Golovkin head into the ring and successfully make his 20th middleweight title defense.
If Golovkin wins this Saturday night, he will tie the great Bernard ‘The Alien’ Hopkins’ boxing record for most successful middleweight title defenses. Many boxing fans feel that Golovkin should have no problem walking through Martirosyan. With that said, does Martirosyan have any chance to beat GGG and derailing GGG’s middleweight title defense record?
Golovkin will be the bigger, stronger, heck, maybe even faster guy in the ring on Saturday night. Martirosyan has a tough road ahead of him, but he can take this opportunity to either shock the world, or at best, put on a great performance against GGG to open up more big fights for him. The boxing world should be in for a great fight come Saturday, May 5! No matter who GGG fights, the boxing world always get their money’s worth.
