Check out the tale of the tape for the upcoming middleweight title fight between Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Martin Murray.
This is a great time in boxing right now as the boxing world just heard the announcement of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao finally sealing the deal to fight each other on May 2, 2015. One of the only other fighters that have mesmerized the boxing world other than the back and forth between Pacquiao and Mayweather is Gennady “GGG” Golovkin.
Golovkin will step into the ring tonight against a very tough Martin Murray, which should prove as the biggest test in Golovkin’s boxing career to date. In 2014, Golovkin blew away really good fighters with his effective aggression and body punching so will 2015 prove to be yet another explosive year for the upstart Golovkin?
Since losing to Sergio Martinez in a very competitive fight in 2013, Martin Murray bounced back pretty well as he has won his last 4 fights leading up to his shot this evening to try and derail the undefeated Golovkin. Murray does feel confident that he can pull off the upset this evening against Golovkin, but will Murray fall victim to the pressure that Golovkin will bring to him tonight?
Well, it should be some great action this evening. Golovkin’s WBA(Super), Interim WBC, and IBO middleweight titles will be on the line, and Murray’s WBC Silver middleweight title will be on the line. This fight will air on HBO at 5:45p.m. EST and this is a fight you do not want to miss. Let’s see how Golovkin and Murray match up!
