On Saturday, December 16, 2023, Showtime Sports closed its doors to Showtime Championship Boxing. The last broadcast featured super-middleweight sensation David Morrell, Jr. as he put his WBA (Regular) super-middleweight title on the line against Sena Agbeko.

Morrell, Jr. was sensational in the fight, as he used a barrage of hooks and uppercuts to beat Agbeko into submission. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight in round 2. Morrell, Jr. got the 2nd round TKO victory and retained his WBA (Regular) super-middleweight title.

What a way for Showtime Championship Boxing to end! Morrell, Jr. is up and coming in the super-middleweight division. There are lots of great fighters at super-middleweight that will challenge to derail the Morrell, Jr. train. Morrell, Jr. is a breath of fresh air for the sport of boxing right now.
