In the light-heavyweight division, most boxing fans would say that Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev are the two best fighters at light-heavyweight. On April 10, 2021, however, two other light-heavyweights will be looking to put their names in the hat as one of the best at light-heavyweight.

One of those fighters is ‘The Irish Bomber’ Joe Smith, Jr. Smith, Jr. is the guy who reminded all of us that “Father’s Times” is undefeated when he knocked out the great Bernard ‘Executioner’ Hopkins. The knockout caused Hopkins to retire from the sport of Boxing.
Since knocking out Hopkins, Smith, Jr.’s professional boxing career has been up and down. He lost 2 of his last 5 fights. Those losses were to Sullivan Barrera and Dmitry Bivol. Since losing to Bivol, Smith Jr. Has been on a 2-fight winning streak which put him in position for the upcoming vacant WBO light-heavyweight title fight against Maxim ‘The Kill’ Vlasov.
Maxim Vlasov is the other light-heavyweight who wants his name in lights as one of the best light-heavyweights in the world. His last loss was to cruiserweight Krzysztof Glowacki. Since losing to Glowacki, Vlasov moved down from cruiserweight to light-heavyweight. He is riding a 3-fight win streak which put him in the position to fight Smith, Jr.
The Smith, Jr. vs. Vlasov vacant WBO light-heavyweight title fight should be a good one. Smith, Jr. can really crack and Vlasov loves to bang which will make for fireworks on April 10. Tune in to see which one of these fighters will capture their first world title. The action starts on ESPN at 10 PM EST.
