The Boxing World loses another fighter. Junior middleweight Patrick Day died after suffering traumatic brain injuries in his fight with Charles Conwell on October 12, 2019.
Day was knocked out in the final round of that fight which was a part of DAZN’s Oleksandr Usyk vs. Chazz Witherspoon undercard. After the fight, Day was taken to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago where he passed away just 4 days after being knocked out in his USBA junior middleweight title fight with Conwell.
Condolences and prayers go out to Day’s family. It goes to show that even though Boxing is entertaining, we sometimes forget how dangerous the sport of Boxing is. Patrick Day was 27 years old.
