On August 29, 2015, the Staples Center in Los Angeles California will witness featherweight boxing sensation Leo Santa Cruz take on by far the toughest test of his boxing career when he steps into the ring against the ultra-aggressive Abner Mares. This fight will definitely be a barn burner as 2 of the most aggressive featherweights will enter the ring against each other in a “fight fire with fire” style of boxing match.

Both fighters weighed in under the featherweight (126 lbs.) limit as Leo Santa Cruz weighed in at a ready 124.8 lbs, and Abner Mares at 125.2 lbs. Leo Santa Cruz is well known for his unbelievable volume punching, while Abner Mares is known for being ultra-aggressive.
With that said, the question in this fight will be which boxing style wins, Santa Cruz’s volume punching or Mares’ sheer aggression? This fight has the potential to upstage the Marco Huck vs. Krzysztof Glowacki epic cruiserweight battle for 2015 fight of the year honors if both fighters bring their boxing style “A” games to the ring.
