It was another exciting boxing year for 2024. On October 12, 2024, the boxing world got the undisputed light-heavyweight title fight they were clamoring for. That fight was Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol for all the light-heavyweight marbles. Artur Beterbiev got the 12th-round majority decision over Dmitry Bivol to become the undisputed light-heavyweight champion.
On December 21, 2024, Oleksandr Usyk increased his status as the best heavyweight in boxing when he defeated ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury in their rematch. The boxing year 2024 also produced some great women’s boxing action. On July 27, 2024, Claressa ‘T-Rex’ Shields defeated Vanessa ‘Rampage’ Lepage-Joanisse by 2nd-round TKO victory to become the WBC and WBF Women’s heavyweight and WBO Women’s light-heavyweight champion.
Shields have now captured world titles in five different weight classes. She is the #1 Pound 4 Pound Women’s fighter in boxing. There was lots of exciting boxing action in 2024, and it shall continue into the boxing year 2025. There are always lots of fighters and fights that deserve a boxing award.
