Shakur Stevenson was ready to put his WBC lightweight title on the line against ‘Kid Austin’ Floyd Schofield. The fight is off now due to Schofield falling ill. The Stevenson vs. Schofield WBC lightweight title fight was originally on the undercard of the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol rematch this Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Stevenson may still fight this Saturday if a replacement opponent steps up. The news of Schofield falling ill is unfortunate for him and Stevenson. Stevenson is looking to increase his status as one of the best fighters in boxing.
Hopefully, Stevenson will be able to find a replacement opponent before Saturday.
