How easy an HBO Pay-Per-View event can shrink to just an HBO event. Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin will be putting his WBC, WBA, and IBO middleweight titles on the line against Vanes ‘Nightmare’ Martirosyan. Yes, Martirosyan Is not the sexy pick for the boxing world, but he will have to do for now.
Martirosyan is coming off of a loss to ‘The American Dream’ Erislandy Lara in his last fight back in May of 2016. With that said, the boxing world will expect for GGG to put on a lights-out performance against a guy who has not fought in 2 years.
The reasoning behind GGG fighting Martirosyan may be the fact that he is looking to save room for that possible showdown with Canelo Alvarez in September once Canelo returns from his suspension. In any case, Boxing World, we have a fight on May 5, 2018, and I am sure we will all be watching Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin vs. Vanes ‘Nightmare’ Martirosyan.
