Wow Boxing World! Vasyl ‘Hi-Tech’ Lomachenko has made another world class fighter quit. Vasyl Lomachenko used his superior activity to outclass Guillermo ‘The Jackal’ Rigondeaux. Rigondeaux won the 1st round of that fight, but it was all Lomachenko after the 1st round.
Rigondeaux did a lot of clinching and holding which caused Referee Steve Willis to take a point away from him. I believe after getting the point taken away, Rigondeaux was so far down on the scorecards, that he just packed it in.
After the 6th round was over, Rigondeaux quit in the corner due to a hurt hand. Even the hurt hand is questionable. In any case, the fight was stopped and Lomachenko was awarded the 6th round RTD victory, thus, he retains his WBO junior lightweight title.
Conclusion
Vasyl Lomachenko has frustrated another world class fighter. I thought the Nicolas Walters fight was impressive for Lomachenko, but the fight with Rigondeaux was more impressive. Rigondeaux is a Pound 4 Pound type of fighter, and for him to quit on his stool, let’s you know how much skill Lomachenko possesses.
Now, Rigondeaux said that he hurt his hand which allowed him not to continued. Do you believe that Boxing World? Check out Potshot Boxing’s (PSB) latest boxing poll below and vote.
