Last night, Shakur Stevenson put on a masterclass against Robson Conceicao in front of his hometown crowd in Newark, New Jersey. Conceicao had no answers for Stevenson’s superior boxing skills.
Stevenson cruised to a 12th round unanimous decision victory to the delight of the Prudential Center boxing crowd. As a result of Stevenson winning the fight, the WBC and WBO junior lightweight titles are vacant, given that Stevenson lost those titles on the scales.
Stevenson has officially outgrown the 130-pound division. His next fight will be in the lightweight division (135 lbs.) There are many great fighters at 135 pounds Stevenson can take on next.
