On March 1, 2025, ‘The Reaper’ Lamont Roach, Jr. and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis gave the boxing world a great fight. Heading into this fight, there were a lot of boxing fans who did not know Lamont Roach, Jr. that well. Roach put all of that to rest on March 1, 2025, when he gave Gervonta Davis the best fight of Davis’s boxing career.

Roach used a great jab, combinations, and counterpunching to give Davis a lot of problems. Davis had moments in the fight as he started faster than usual in the early rounds, which may have saved him from losing this fight. This fight went to the judges’ scorecards, and the judges ruled the fight a draw. As a result, Davis retains his WBA lightweight title.
Many boxing fans felt like Lamont Roach, Jr. should have won this fight. It was a close fight, so you can argue that either Roach or Davis won this fight.
