Danny ‘Swift’ Garcia put on an impressive performance in his debut at junior middleweight. Jose Benavidez, Jr. did a lot of posturing while standing in front of Garcia. He did not throw a lot of punches in this fight which hurt him. Garcia took advantage of Benavidez, Jr.’s inactivity by banging him to the body.

Garcia boxed beautifully, as he used combination punching to the head and body of Benavidez, Jr. He also used good movement to control the distance between him and Benavidez, Jr. In the end, Garcia got the easy 12th round majority decision victory.
There was one judge who scored the fight a draw. Not sure what fight that judge was watching because Garcia controlled the fight from start to finish. During the post-fight interview, Garcia said he would like a rematch with Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman.
